Kitten The Kangaroo - Part 1

(The words written like this are the character’s thoughts.)

Hey everyone! Today was really crazy. It all started when we went on a picnic trip in the woods...

River is sniffing the flowers, Cherry is making friendship bracelets, and I... Well, was thinking of writing you. Which I didn’t, because something CRAZY happened! A purple kangaroo, out of nowhere, was sitting on the bench next to us. “Hi! I’m Kitten!” she said. “Hi, I’m Nala.” I said, feeling kind of creeped out. Were we gonna have ANOTHER person living with us now?! “Ooh, nice name! Who are the others?” Kitten asked curiously. “You’re the curious one, aren’t you?” I mumbled. “My mother used to say that...” Kitten said sadly. “Well, this is Cherry, the red panda, and River is the raccoon.” I explained. They all shook hands, when Cherry said “Hey! We forgot the sandwiches!”. “Oh yeah! We better go home for a second. Kitten, why don’t you come?” River said. “Well, okay!” Kitten said and hopped over to our house with us. “Ooh, we don’t have one of these under doors at home!” Kitten said and picked up a small note under the door. “Neither do we... Cherry, why don’t you read it?” I asked. Cherry picked up the note.

“Woah! Queen Felicia is your AUNT?!” Kitten exclaimed. “Well, yeah she is. I mean, it’s not UNCOMMON to have an aunt that’s Mira’s niece, is it?” Cherry said, expecting us to agree. “HELLO, its SUUPER uncommon!” Kitten exclaimed. “Today is Friday. Tomorrow’s Saturday. So, we better get packing!” River said. When we’d packed, we jumped into a random sports car that was outside our house.

When we finally arrived, we were amazed. Queen Felicia’s castle was AMAZING!

The first floor was definitely for me. It had two rooms, FILLED with books and rugs!

“Awe, why did it have to be books?!” River said. “Hmm, I don’t know, maybe the Queen just likes books.” Kitten said.

Before entering the second floor, there was a round floor, with stairs left and right. In the middle it had a nature themed throne. “The left room first, please!” Kitten said. “Alright!” I said and smiled. It was a gigantic bedroom, with 4 beds. “This is my DREAM room!”  Kitten said.

Okay, now it’s time to go UPSTAIRS!!!” River said and jumped up the stairs. “I’ll follow him. You guys stay here.” I said.

I took a picture of the flag, so I’m gonna stick it in here.

There. What do you think?

So, two pandas, black and orange, came up to our room. “Queen Felicia wants you in the dining room.” They said. So that must be the room we haven’t explored yet! I thought.

Queen Felicia was waiting patiently at the table. We curtsied for the Queen, and sat down.

There was an awkward silence. “So, Cherry dear, how’s school?” Queen Felicia asked.

“Uhm, auntie, I never went to school. I think only princesses do that.” Cherry answered. “Oh, well in that case, how’s whatever you’re doing coming?” Queen Felicia asked again. “Well, Nala over there *she points at me* invited me and River to her cottage, and now we live there. Kitten over there *she points at Kitten* is here until she finds a way home.” Cherry said, and without another word, she popped a big, round meatball in her mouth. “Kitten... That’s a very unusual name for a kangaroo.” Queen Felicia mumbled. “Well, my mother, Tutu, named me that. Not like it’s MY fault!” she said and ate two big, round meatballs. “Oh... Well I’m terribly sorry. I just mostly like common names.” Queen Felicia said, quite rudely.  Also, sorry that I’m writing very much with italics and bold letters. We finished our big meal, and headed to the bedroom. I noticed that Cherry had sneaked 40 meatballs with her, and she stuffed them in her lunch-bag. Then we all fell asleep.
